Misty Fresh

A couple months ago we got a Pure Enrichment | PureSpa Essence Aromatherapy Oil Diffuser – All-Natural Air Freshener with Optional Color-Changing Mood Light and Automatic Shut-Off Timer for Safe Home & Office Use because we wanted to replace the Rainbow RainMate Air Freshener, Purifier (the thing we got for free several years ago at a home and garden show). The RainMate was just too bulky and we kept forgetting to clean it. So the Pure Enrichment was on sale at a retail store, and we figured "What the hell".

It's so much smaller than the RainMate and much quieter as well. The challenge is, it doesn't push out the nice smelling oils we put in, like the RainMate did. Maybe that's why big and bulky can be better? More push for smell? Who knows, but the nights we have been making greasy or fishy dinners, this little bugger works quite well in the kitchen. It's just a shame the smell doesn't reach to the bedrooms like the bigger dude does.

The perks of the Pure are that it's got several timers on it. Ranging from 30 minutes to 180, it's basically "set and forget". Plus, there's a stream of rainbow lights you can disco to, should you decide to use this in a bedroom and as a humidifier.

Someone gifted us the Pursonic 100% Pure Essential Aromatherapy Oils Gift Set-6 Pack , 10ML(Eucalyptus, Lavender, Lemon grass, Orange, Peppermint, Tea Tree) and we've used the lemongrass recently in the Pure Enrichment diffuser. It actually smells really clean and good. Like the kitchen is full of lemons. So I guess this thing works good enough.

We haven't tried other oils yet, but I'm sure they smell just as good for kitchen use.

I don't know if I posted all this before, so excuse the fact it's a rerun.

But... I've also got a video. Taken on an iPhone 11 and edited in Pinnacle Studio 18 Ultimate.

Stay safe, stay clean, take care of yourself.

"Just take a needle, fill it with alcohol, plug it in the fruit"

The things you come up with, among drinkers, who want to reinvent the snack of the day.

Yesterday I was helping a department with a big project, and one of the leaders came in with a home grown pineapple at the end of the session.

She stated it's a pineapple she has grown in her own back yard and is trying to downsize because she wants to move. She can't take this tree with her, but she's trying to show off her plant growing skills.

With the pineapple, she brought in a slicer / corer contraption. Before digging in to the pineapple and explaining how the contraption works, she explains the origin of the fruit - how she acquired it in her yard and how she was able to grow the tree.

Fun fact, because these babies are heavy, they droop the branches of the tree. So she's trying to eat as much of the ripe ones as possible and sharing the rest (but refusing to share the crown... although it took some convincing for her to give the spent one to someone else in the group... with the promise the person will pay close attention to it, love it, and let it flourish. Then pay it forward and give the first picked crown to someone else).

Turns out, it sounds pretty easy to grow your own pineapple. The internet is chock full of step by step instructions on how to twist the spikey crown off the fruit, peel the bottom bits off the crown to expose the roots, and then plant the thing. I can't go through the whole process on here because I've not tried it, but I'm sure with the power of some keywords and a search engine, you'll be able to find the step by step process.

In the interim, it was pretty cool to see this little pineapple. Even though it was "fully grown", it was obvious it wasn't a store bought version. This one was more short and stout (not a teapot... stop doing the dance) and more vibrant yellow with some orange. The fruit we are all used to from the store is all one solid color (kind of like dirt) and tall. Totally not what I was expecting - seeing this home version. But cool none the less.

The slicer / corer is SameTech Easy Kitchen Tool Stainless Steel Fruit Pineapple Peeler Corer Slicer Cutter and the woman loves it. She shows us exactly what to do. How to hold the pineapple and twist the slicer down the center of the fruit to make sure you get the core out. She had a little trouble with this pineapple - you're supposed to be able to go all the way to the bottom of it and the slicer hits the butt to get the last bit of the core out. For some reason, this pineapple wanted nothing to do with that. Instead, it leaked juice every where. More proof this fruit has to be good.

And man... it was sweetly tart in a good way.

One of the girls said she'd love to be able to put it in alcohol, but doesn't know how it could be done. This woman looks like she likes to socialize as it is, and she doesn't know how to get a fruit drunk? Oh man.. kids these days need a solid reminder. Haha.

So I told her just to buy some sort of needle system, fill it with liquor of choice, inject into fruit. She loved the idea but I don't know if she'd try it - spend the money on store fruit, buy the injector, get the booze. Who knows; maybe she will.

A quick Amazon search, it doesn't really exist for fruit. There's "injector for meat" but not for fruit. Although, there is this search. Which looks similar to the meat system. Either way, it's worth a test?

All this rambling and you're like "got proof?" of the pineapple and slicer. I know, I know.

Here:

If all else fails, be like pineapple: stand tall, wear a crown, be sweet on the inside.
