I've gone a week and not updated the tea situation

Oops.

We drank and finished the Tevive mango and strawberry "cold brew" tea, but I haven't made any more because I'm waiting for my mother to finish the bottle of Califia Farms - Pure Black Blonde Roast Cold Brew Coffee that she had bought when it was "buy one, get one" at Publix. Once that goes empty, I've told her I'm using some of the Dunkin' Original Blend Medium Roast Ground Coffee to make the cold brew.

It seems like it's all the same - how you make and mix the coffee or tea in the carafe. Truth be told, it does take some trial and error because the carafe I'm using ("Crofton Cold Brew System" from Aldi), typically holds around seven cups of water. I think the level depends on how much ground coffee I put in the mesh container (filter). The suggested measurements range between ¾ to one cup of ground coffee and that's only due to taste (rumor has it, the darker the roast, the stronger the coffee, so go easy on the cup). I don't really measure per se, I kind of eyeball it, especially if there's not a lot of coffee left to make.

Tea is almost similar. The loose leaf stuff, like from Atlantic Spice Co. and Northlandtea were variations of what to do. The Atlantic Spice Co. one was too old and I poured enough of it in to fill about half of the filter. The Northlandtea was more of the dried leaves variety, so that was within the halfway mark when I poured what was in the container into the filter. This was much better of a flavor out of the two. For packed sachet type tea, Celestial Seasonings Green Tea and TeVive Mango Strawberry tea were good. I would make both again. I really don't think it's a flavor thing that makes it positive or negative of an experience because green tea lacks any type of fruity profile. So if it was going to be horrible, it would have been on the level of the black tea I made. Although that was also supposed to be vanilla flavored. It was just too old; it didn't serve a purpose anymore.

So I think once I can get the Dunkies done and gone, I'll tell my mother we need to make the Teeccino and attempt to finish it. She loved it for the first week she opened it, but we've still got too much of it and no one is drinking it. Maybe if it's in iced form, it might calm the boozy smell down. I mean, it's not completely overpowering, but if you're not paying attention, the scent can creep up on you. Someone was a little heavy handed in the flavoring, so maybe if we try to make it cold, it will simmer down.

It's worth a shot. At least then we will know if it's a bad coffee to make iced, or if we found another interesting cup to add to the rotation. Hopefully I can convince her to try another brand and flavor.

Hopefully.

Until then, I'll keep updating on the attempts and see how we manage everything. Sky looks like it's going to open up again, and did it ever this morning. We had quite the light and audio show, to the point we were delayed in doing our errands.

Yay for summer!!

Not.

Cheers;
