Well it's all right, even if they say you're wrong
Well it's all right, sometimes you gotta be strong"

The other day, Emily and I had to do some room checks around campus. We had a list of things to make sure were in order for an upcoming event (not until next week, but it needed to be done all the same). One of the rooms we had to go in, was the community's train room.
Yes, the place I work at, has a model railroad system dedicated to landmarks and icons in the state of Florida . And yes, we took pictures as we were in the room. Triple yes for me going back today with my Canon camera.
Although we "geeked out" at all the intricate houses and people, I'm sorry to report that there are a few pictures where my phone (iPhone 6S) captured a deeper level of detail over my Canon Rebel T3 DSLR. That's not to say I didn't take over 200 pictures today; even though I've narrowed it down to 69 (lol) images to upload.
I think my phone took better pictures, solely because it adjusted for the light better. I could have put everything in Photoshop and played around to get the perfect combination of color and light, but with not having a monitor calibrated to do professional editing, WYSIWYG. I'm not sorry; I don't have the greenbacks for a computer dedicated to formatting pictures (or time). If I were to pursue photography as a professional job, I'd be investing in all the materials I need. Honestly. I realize I keep harping on this as well. Not sorry about that either. Until I can make a better situation, I'll complain about using my phone but wish I had my DSLR all the same... even when some of the phone shots come out as equally interesting.
Proof of phone vs. Canon:
(neither are edited for content. WYSIWYG)

I honestly don't know which photo looks better, but I know from the 60 I took on my phone and the 200 I took on my Canon, there is a difference. Maybe I just need to learn my camera a little more and stop relying on "auto" (yes, there are times I'm on full auto mode in my settings. Stop cringing, photo pros. I'm not you). I should learn it more before I ever end up getting whatever new model is currently available. That way, I can attack things with better enthusiasm and know my photos kick butt (for one of my bird pictures being on a coworker's bathroom wall in 16x20 canvas form... hi Erica).
Or, maybe some of the tinting / aerial views feel a little like a ghoul you can't call by name three times for fear he'll wreak havoc on everything and not leave you alone (which is actually what I mentioned to Emily the other day). 👻
Never Trust The Living and then start a Day-O party after. Your call.
So.. without further ado and vocalizing what's wrong with my photos (and promised from the other day), I present (a slow news day / photo dump) a local model railroad system!

Be safe, be well. Don't do anything stupid.
Cheers;
