Apparently it was nature day...

 ...at work yesterday.

Tis the season to find creepy crawling, buzzing, slithering sludgy things.

I was walking down one of the halls in the common area I'm centered in, and a little flying thing caught the corner of my eye. Outside one of the massive windows is a wasp. Of sorts.

It looks massive in the pictures I took, because plainly, I decided the window was within my best benefit and I was able to capture the flight of this insect without worrying it's going to attack me.

Photos are WYSIWYG and taken on the fruit phone (iPhone 11 [basic]).

My mother saw these and started getting the creeping willies because I had hooked my phone up to the TV (via Apple Lightning to Digital AV Adapter). She said "it looks like one of those murder hornets!! Get it off the screen!! I can't look!!" and kept shielding her eyes. The couple seconds she did manage to look, she said that the pictures "belong in a nature magazine" because I got semi decent pictures of this wasp.

I would have gotten better and more, if I had my Canon camera... but beggars can't be choosers and all I had was my phone. I'm not proud.

Look up "murder hornet". It was a thing a couple months ago. And no, this is not one of them.

The other thing I captured was a frog.

Yet another "frog friend!!!" as Emi calls them. This guy was two floors up, not near anything that he could have possibly jumped on to get here (like a tree or something similar). He must have taken some lessons from a certain spider and scaled the walls or something because I honestly don't know how he attached himself to the outside window of one of the rooms I was eating my lunch in.

Again, WYSIWYG and taken on the phone.

My mother didn't have any major squimishness with this one, but she didn't like seeing it all the same.

*Shrugs*

Instead of singing Rod the Mod the other day, I got a different mod in my head. From the end of the 1960's...a song David Bowie recorded, called "Let Me Sleep Beside You".

I honestly don't know why it popped in my head. I was driving my golf cart down the road and the tinny guitar and "dirtle dirtle dirtle dum. Dirtle dum" kept rotating around my brain. I know that "dirtle" is wrong. I can't write it out. It's my poor hearing, which is getting far worse these days (what else is new?! Between my ears failing and my eyes failing, I'm falling apart).

And... after watching several Bowie music videos on the streaming video service... I've lost the last 20 minutes because I got distracted. Squirrel moments happen a lot for me when I start multitasking certain themes.

Did you know there are "official" videos for the songs from Labyrinth? Yeah, I didn't and think you should seek them out. I just stumbled on them when I found the Let Me Sleep Beside You video.

Go watch them... I'm peaching out. ☮

Cheers;
